If you've managed to make extra ventilation for them then the viv is fine seeing as you already probably spent a lot of money on it. You just need to keep an eye on your temps and moisture levels etc which you seem to be aware of.

My torts are in a table with a piece of glass in the side of it so i can see inside and the glass doesnt bother them. In fact Pickle likes to climb on top of the log to look out of the glass from a distance.

If you feel like the glass is causing them distress then just place paper or card or even black tape along the bottom so they cant see out and it should be fine.

As long as your torts have no chance of climbing out that would be fine! Thats the thing about petshops, they want to make a profit on the viv and do not care less about the torts welfare :verymad: Though not all petshops are the same, there's 1 near here that only sells guinea pig cages with her torts

I can see them

The main thing with using a viv is that you are able to achieve a good temperature gradient and that they don't get too hot

It may benefit torty to have a humid hide to retreat to if he wishes

With my viv' (I bought a just over 6 foot by 2 foot one) I took out all the glass and fitted coated mesh in its place. Lots of air flow and not to much fuss just a thought x
