Ed thank you for your input to this thread,Its nice to hear of other keepers dealings.
My largest clutch ever to date is 3 eggs,And she only ever laid 3 eggs once. They tend to lay 2 eggs in a clutch and 6 clutches in a season.
I do have animals here that be long to the stud book but sadly they are all males,I have contacted Henk to ask for females but nothing has come of light as yet.
I did know that Slovenia was keeping them because i seen photos some where,But was not in the know of them breeding any.I wish you all the best with the new 6 babys,Finger crossed for a good sex ratio.

6 clutches from one female was my season best.

I'm glad you are working with Henk. That's a really special situation when the zoo community is willing to work with the private sector.

They are breeding them in Slovenia and they are able to get paperwork to ship to the UK but they are god awful expensive.

There were some that was shipped to the UK last year from Slovenia.

I posted some photos of the breeding females from Slovenia in the Slovenia post.

Thanks.

European Studbook for Egyptians i do have 3 males here from chester zoo,How ever they have not been used in any breeding yet.I have never thought about selling any of the offspring may look into selling some this season,See how it gos.I can not keep them all and you only have to feed them if you know i mean.
This is really inspiring! When reading that and seeing the photo of your group and so many babies, it made me think whether I would like to try that too. But I have no experience with breeding tortoises. I have had my two tortoises for the last 9 years, so I know about how to care for them, but I know nothing about breeding them...

Jeff

These photo's have a major wow factor, do you have any close up shots of the torts you could share.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing
