Hi all
Well its that time of year,The Egyptian tortoise males are into the combat mode.This evening for the first time this season i can hear the mating call of the males.The mating vacal of the males amazes me every time i hear it,Tortoise waighing in at 150g are so loud :lol.I will keep you updated,When i let them lose on the females.

Tortbabe,I will up date the tread,Egyptians are lovely little tortoises to keep.
Helen,Best place to here them is u tube just type in Egyptian tortoises mating and you will hear them.

That would be lovely Jeff If I had room for any more species Eqyptians would be my choice. I love their small size and their colouring. Are they very hard to keep?

Yes Egyptians are charming little tortoises,I like the way they charge around there enclosure.I dont think they are hard to keep if im honest,Quite simple realy.They need dry sandy substrate,Bright lights and a nice basking spot.

My red foots are often quacking (mating) now we have a door from the garage to house you can hear them 'at it'
I will have to google the mating noise of a Egyptian never heard it.

Helen,I may sell some babys in the future,The babys i hatched out in july and August are keepers.
Sarah fill your boots mate,There is nothing like it in the tortoise world xx.
