Toby used to hiss at me whem I first got him. Don't think he was handled that much but he doesn't do it anymore

Could be scared, could just be objecting to something different happening.

My 50 year old can't half grump when he wants to! Whoever shot the title sequences to "one foot in the grave" must have kept torts! There's definitely a touch of Victor Meldrew about mine from time to time! (He makes me laugh too

She does do it more when im close to her, picking her up or touching her. She omly does it the once then shuts up

Just being assertive! She may or may not get out of the habit of being 'huffy'.

I wouldn't worry about it. My male gets handled daily and still does it. If it's me just the once, but pretty much every time I pick him up. If it's the vet, it's more persistent... something to do with the vet shoving needles in him this spring, probably!
