Default Stone prone?

I think one of mine (Reg) may be trying to pass a stone. for the past couple of days it's been trying to do something, it's done a vey small and narrow poop but nothing else other than urine and very very small amout of urates.

Apart from increasing bathing is there anything else that can be done or given?

and are some torts prone to stones as this one has passed a big stone before around 9 months ago maybe? both torts have the same conditions and diet, no problems with little rodney

Yes some can be Alan. You might want to try a bit of baby oil squirted up there everyday. That will hopefully make everything slippery and come out better. Though you may have to break it up if it doesn't look like it will be able to come out on it's own, once it's down where you can see it.

That will work as well as a syringe without a needle.

Thanks Bindi. If I have to go and get a syringe from the chemist and they ask what I'm going to use it for they won't believe me ..

When I was getting topsoil the other night the woman on the till said, ooh you must be a keen gardener everyone's gardens are covered in snow. Rather than have her think I was mental I went on to explain that it was actually for tortoises but when we got out my wife said maybe you should have just gone along with the gardening story

I can't help myself, I always have to slip in a little tortoise mention in case anyone is willing to listen to me bore them by rabbiting on about them for a few minutes

Hi Alan
I know its not the same but one of mine when tiny was constipated & I filled a container with baby oil, held him under his front arms (waist area as it were) & dangled his bottom half in it several times along with an awful lot of baths. It did the trick, so worth a try if you dont manage or feel confident with syringe
