Sulcatas
While Sulcatas do get big it is not a given. They can have a slow rate of growth just a much as they can have a fast rate of growth. I have a 10 year old who only started growing quickly when I place it outdoors. It was about 2 lbs at 6 years old and is about 10 lbs now.
These are pictures that I like to show for size comparison and some behavior factors when dealing with Sulcatas. There are quite a few people in the UK keeping Sulcatas very successfully. There are even a few breeders. This is a very adaptable tortoise and if you are prepared to deal with the eventual size their care is extremely rewarding. They have a very unique personality. http://home.comcast.net/~epirog/TortoisesandFriend.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~epirog/BabyAnd.jpg (Just cut and past the image link. I don't know why it's not showing here using the standard[img][/img])

Great pics, Ed! I think I've seen that first one before - it's brilliant. And the second one is great too. Thanks for posting them.
