tortoise vomitted PLEASE HELP
My 2 year old ibera has just been very sick. He really struggled to bring it up and it was horrific. I dont know what to do. I have him in a very shallow bath now to try get him to take a drink. His wee eyes were closed but looked bulging. I dont know what has caused it or anything. He has had rocket the past few days which he really seems to love but maybe he has eaten too much too quickly? I dont know what to do for the best for him
Please help

He needs to see a vet ASAP. It could be a blockage or a large infestation of worms.

Keep your tortoise as hydrated as you can. And an emergency appointment at the vets would be in order if possible.

She has called the vet, they think he had just regurgitated food and to keep an eye, but will get him seen Monday, but if he gets any worse they will see him sooner. She is also planning extra baths

I hope he is ok too. Looks like his food he has brought up as think he has eaten far too much today. He was choking slightly as he brought it up but all seems to be out now whatever it is. He is sleeping riggt now and I will make sure he gets a bath tomorrow morning before work and mum coming in for a check and further bath at lunchtime.
Out of hours said to bring him down if he seems out of sorts or does it again. My vet only works mon-wed so will call tomorrow and make an appointment for monday if all well over the weekend we will see him then. If he not well or anyway not himself he is going to out of hours. He is far too precious to me and I will do anytjing to make sure he is happy and healthy. Should I give him a little food tomorrow or just keep it to baths?

Poor Petey!
Hoping that it was just a one-off and he'll be fine over the weekend until you see the vet on Monday.

is your vet a tort/reptile specialist? if not I'd find one, most small animal vets only do a brief period with torts if any in their training and owners often find themselves having to go to a specialist in the end. Its cheaper to have one from the start even if you have to travel, I also doubt a spec vet would have said see how he is on monday, by then he could be to bad to do anything if not dead. In all the years I kep torts I never had one be sick and lethargy, bulging eyes doesn't sound good.
