Exclamation plastron pics

noticed something on george yesterday, on his plastron wondered if it was some kind of shedding dead skin as he is growing, or if more to worry about? my first thought was shell rot. circled it too make it easier to spot, thank you

Hi Vikilou,

it could be some form of shell rot, is the scute lifting? it kinda looks like it is...The plastron and carapace aren't made from skin so it shouldn't be 'shedding'
The scutes shouldn't lift at all, if they do then there could be something going on underneath. It is only a small bit but if it were me I would take him to a specialist vet to get it checked out, just to be on the safe side

Don't panic, if it is shell rot then it looks like you've caught it early - well done for being so observant

Hopefully someone will be along shortly to give you a second opinion

a closer macro pic from directly above might be better though I wouldn't know anyway as I've never dealt with shell rot
