georgies eyes
bit concerned i notice the past week george heeps rubbing his eyes and then hes has them half closed and they look all funny, like when they get their eyes wet lol but anyway i noticed yesterday one eye seemed to have like a red bit in the corner i dont know if they have third eyelids like dogs and cats but it looked like this but pinky red, is there a chance it could be conjunctivitus or maybe something has irritated him or could it be lighting? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks x

What substrate is he in, If it has any sand in it it could well be that. One of mine has problems even with topsoil as it manages to get in his eyes.

Have you tried bathing his eyes at all?

Yeah I made sure ive been bathing him a few times every day after I noticed it in case he had something stuck in his eye x

But wasnt too sure what I could use to wipe the eyes will cottonwool irritate more?

Hi Vik.As you've probably seen from my thread,I'm struggling with a hatchling's eye problem. Not sure if I'm posting to a man or woman but I use a cotton bud or one of those little eyeshadow applicators-new of course.you could get some artificial tears or hypromellose eye drops cheaply at a pharmacy but if in doubt see a vet.Hope all goes well

just to save you looking on the shelves for it, hypromellose (artificial tears) is behind the counter so you need to ask for it. it is only about £2.29 or £2.99 depending on what chemist you go to. As Shellonia says, if it doesn't help, go to the vet and you will get something probably with antibiotic in it

Ah ok thanks will any pharmacies do it or should I go boots or something my local chemist is pretty rubbish lol x
