Angry I just dont get some people

On our local radio today, Thames valley police are warning people not to walk on iced lakes and ponds and the canals....BUT there are actually people doing it, my friend lives on a canal boat, and woke up this morning to people walking passed his window on the canal

It's so dangerous, i just dont get why people want to risk their lives like that, and i'm not just talking kids here, adults who should be setting an example and know better

There was an article in the paper the other day of a woman walking her child to school over a pond, straight past a dangerous thin ice sign.

And people wonder why kids go on frozen ponds.

it really is mad because not only do people risk their own lives, they put potential rescuers' lives at risk too. I have seen someone go through the ice and it is very very difficult to get out, the water gets on top of the ice making it very slippy and near impossible to get out. the water is so cold that you are unable to move after only 5-10 minutes and you could be dead in 20

I recognise that pond

Honestly, I think when we get a bit of snow and ice some people lose the one brain cell they were born with, and I agree with you, Alan. If people want to be stupid and risk their lives it's one thing, but when others have to go and rescue them and put their own lives at risk...bloody selfish as well as stupid.
