I know what you mean, i cant kill anything either, but i'm curious and maybe a bit stupid but how does sand kill them??

I assumed they wouldnt walk/slime/crawl-(what ever it is slugs do) on it, thus not getting to the plants.

Are these flowers your trying to protect for slugs in your tort enclosure, pots or garden?
If in tubs squirt baby oil round the outside rim this stops them sliding up into the tubs. For garden I use crushed garlic - it does work I don't know why!

I have used all these methods

Baked crushed egg shells

Sawdust

Porridge oats (I have found this attracts mice tho)

beer traps

Nemaslug

Bark mulch

Copper tape around the bases of your pots

Chickens

Any I find go straight in the compost bin! They can eat all the garden / kitchen waste to their hearts content with my blessings!
