If for Hermans, just normal lamp to warm up during day, no heat needed on night, as long as they can dig in if needed.
A thermostat on a heater is recommended, sheds soon warm up with a bit of sun. Themostat on combined bulbs is not.
My Leo is in a shed which is not insulated yet, with 100watt combined, i have had temps of 110f and average 90f.

remember when you insulate it works both ways, the sun won't heat it as the outside heat is insulated against comming in the same as the heat shouldn't escape so your shed will stay cold if you don't have any heat in it. I'm still using my tubular at night as the temps are still low outside but it won't be on in the summer, my 2 heatlamps which are ordinary red ones can get the shed up to 80f plus in around an hour and when switched off will stay hot most of the day, our shed is insulated first with polystrene then a layer of bubble wrap followed by boarding and the window is double glazed with perpsex, this all means that hopefully I can use the shed untill late in the year before they hibernate and they can go straight outside in the spring, it really does pay to use as much insulation as poss all of ours was free on freecycle including the shed, forgot to mention there is also polystrene under the floor.
