Default 15 Kids & Counting

Did anyone watch this on Channel 4?

One couple had started their family when she was 14 and she has just had her 15th at the age of 36. They lived in a very large house with all of them spread about and the cellar was also converted.

The other couple were strict Catholics and she had had 10 babies and 8 miscarriages. This family lived in a 4 bedroom terraced house, but there was only 8 children with them it appeared.

Can you imagine the noise, chaos and work just for starters?

I missed this, will try to catch it later on catch-up. I can't imagine how it would be to have such a large family, I have a daughter and a son and that is enough for me

A number of my friends have 6 children and they seem to work it well. Four is just perfect for us!! We've got six of us in a four bed home, we've had two extensions built and still I'd love more space. I don't know how the family with 11 kids managed! The other family appeared to have a huge home and minibus! They probably get a lot in tax credits but the dad did work 7 days a week as a baker so they weren't complete scroungers. However I couldn't fathom the need for a new pram each baby!!

I think the idea of having a large happy family is lovely but the reality of all that washing, cooking, etc, would be something else. These ladies are addicted to the newborn phase. Sadly mine always seemed to have lost their newborn look by 6 weeks old and I'd imagine these mums crave for that, hence why they have one pregnancy after another. Pregnancy was just a means to an end for me - to be endured for the wonderful end product. The thought of all those pregnancies makes me feel quite ill!

The fathers in both families were working so I didn't think that was too bad.
The mother of the 11 kids clearly had some issues she needed to deal with! I'm not sure I completely agreed with having so many kids in a house that size!
I quite liked the family with 15 kids but I have no idea how they all afforded to go to Lanzarote and the shop they bought that pram shop is local to me and INCREDIBLY expensive!
I'm currently 25 and preggo with number 2; I'd love a big family but I hope I know when to stop!

Benefits never came into it as both fathers worked and finances were not discussed.

It was not one of those programmes, but more one about having a big family and how they got on together, what feeding times were like etc. It also talked about their obsessions with having babies.

Apart from the fact they wanted so many (!) both families came across as relatively normal and pleasant people.

That said though, the weekly child benefit received must be quite high, but think of all that work, cleaning, cooking and washing. Two was enough for me
