New Tort Owner
Just wanted to say hi and thanks, I've only just signed up today but have been reading the forum for weeks whilst reading up before getting our 6 month old Horsfield Tort.
He/she now seems to have settled in ok, is eating and drinking great and seems to love his table. My only concern is he doesn't get himself up in a morning, the lights are on a timer 7am - 7pm but when I come home at lunch he is still asleep so I get him up and bath him then he is fine, basks for a while then stomps round the table and has some food, he's up then up until lights out. Should I be concerned he doesn't wake in his own or will that come in time? |

Hello and welcome, some of mine don't get up till late morning and some are up as soon as their lights are on, it does need to be bright for them to get up and the temps need to be warm enough to get them going x

Hello and welcome, I find that having a Ceramic Heat Emitter (CHE) helps mine get up in the morning at this time if year, it keeps the temp around 20 degrees over night. I bought mine from Amazon with a thermostat. xx
