Default Help please...

In my vivarium section I would like to replace the compact bulb for an Arcadia D3+ 12% Reptile lamp 15w 18inch. I've ordered a reflector as they fit both T8 and T5 tubes but I don't understand which controller fitting I need.
Could some help me please?
Also is there anything else I need to order?

Thanks

Hi,

You've got slightly confused, the 15w isn't T5 but standard T8 the smallest T5 which is really what you want is 24w and 550mm long.

There are 2 different curve reflectors for the T8s and T5s as they lamps are so different in size.

What you need is Product codes, ACER1U5 x1 single 24-39w T5 controller, FD3P24T5 x1 24w D3+ reptile lamp and ALRS24 x1 24w reflector.

Now the controller will run any 24 or 39watt T5 lamp so if you decide to increase the size of lamp you won't have to buy a new controller.

All the best

John

The 22inch tube will not fit in the viv section, the vivarium is only 22 inches itself. I remeasured last night and it may (or may not) fit in diagonally depending on the width of the unit - I don't want to risk that because I'm ordering online).
The vivarium is attached to a tort and there I use a Arcadia UVB so it's not the main source of UVA, but additional if he chooses to spend time in the vivarium.
So in the viv I'm going to have to use a compact, as I am now...
Would this be ok?

Am I right in thinking this is light only - no heat. Is it ok to use the screw in holder that I use now?
Many thanks
