As long as you make sure the temps are ok there's no reason that I can think of why it wouldn't be fine.

It depends what temps it reaches. In the sun it may become too hot in the summer months, but if the tortoise lived outdoors in summer and table in conservatory in winter should be ok as long as you monitor temps

I agree with Fred. I have had torts in my conservatory for a few years now. In summer I really have to be on my toes with temps, the thing to remember is any glass area tends to be 10 degrees hotter than outdoors. but then again my torts were taken outside if it was that hot, but there is always the danger of an unexpected spike.
In the winter its not ideal for the opposite reason, they arent well insulated so tend to be cold/cost a lot to heat. Mine is double glazed & I have an 8 foot tubular heater in there + I use another heater on very cold nights for my hatchlings. It also depends where the conservatory is situated. I have a greenhouse in full sun which I have to be very careful with & another in the shade which is still warmer than outdoors but far more stable, temperature wise. |

Thanks for the replies.
Think I am going to leave them where they are, sounds too risky. I'm at work a lot of the time and we do get full sun on the back. At night time now it feels pretty cold in there and I don't think hubby would be happy with the heating bills lol Looks like it remains a home for the Guinea pigs only this winter. |
