Default Article 10 Confusion - Help Please

Ok I am a bit confused about the certificates I got with the tortoises.

How can I tel the difference between a Transaction Article 10 Certificate" and a "Specimen Specific Article 10 Certificate".

The ones we have are a4 yellow with European Community and Certificate at the top. 20 Numbered boxes.

Thanks
Henry

Mine are those ones too. I think it must be a transaction cert..

but I have just noticed that in box 20 (Special Conditions) it says ...

This certificate is only valid for the holder in box 1. This certificate is valid until the tortoise reaches a plastron length of 100mm, when the specimen must be microchipped and a new certificate applied for

I have been led to believe that you don't need to get them microchipped unless you are selling them or breeding from them which is not quite what it says on the paperwork

I thought you had 5 year old horsfields though? they don't need certificates (or am I confusing you with someone else?)

EDIT> no sorry I see it is Hermanns you have, ignore that line above

Hi marg and thanks for taking the time to reply,

Box 20 says:

"The holder in box 1 must pass this certificate to any new keeper of the specimen. The certificate ia valid for all commercial activities throughout the life of the specimen. This specimen must be permently and uniquely marked as described in box 4."

Sorry cal,
You posted as I was posting.

I think I must have a "Specimen Specific Article 10 Certificate" if yours says

"This certificate is only valid for the holder in box 1. This certificate is valid until the tortoise reaches a plastron length of 100mm, when the specimen must be microchipped and a new certificate applied for.

The reason I am asking is if I had to get the certificates changed into our names.

Thanks marg,

I take it the "fulla10 is a ""Specimen Specific Article 10 Certificate"?

Do I have to get the holder in box one changed anytime in the future?

So are those certificates I have really no use to me at all and it is just a case of the seller must provide one?

If I were selling now and had to get new certs and the torts chipped, would they require the certificate numbers or for the certs to be sent in or do they just issue new numbered ones completely? what I mean is does that number on the cert stay with them for life or just to next sale?
