Sorry for being dim but do you just cut bits off for the tortoise and how often do you give it to them?

Gary

you owe me nothing more, in truth because of the size package it cost 4p extra, so i wont lose sleep or send the lads round. lol.

Tracey

To feed ; depending on size of tort to be fed remove the spines or glochlids with a good pair of welders gloves or with a back of a knife , some even use a small blow-torch to singe them off. of course if you use veluntina there is none, vulgaris and cochenillefera small amounts.

Large torts will consume pads with no further preperation. i cut strips off and feed. Pads will keep fresh in the fridge for a good time. It is best not to feed more than 50% of their diet( they get loose motions) ,but unless you go full scale into keeping opuntia then this realy wont be an issue.Apart from that how often is upto you. I use in the summer for hermanns as a treat. for my hatchlings at least twice a week .

In the winter i mix the opuntia with water and mix in readi-grass ,calcium and nutrobal , to this i add carrot. this makes a wonderfull winter food for my stars, high in calcium and fibre. They love it.

Andy
