Yay new tort but its riddled :(
I got a beautiful girl tort today but when I got home and soaked her she is absolutely riddled with parasites or worms, I think that's what they are but I've never seen before but were coming out in pee and poo but they were moving yuk!
Poor baby must have such a sore tummy. She seems otherwise heathy and happy, moving around, big bright eyes, dry nose, smooth shell. Anyone know what kinda thing these little fu**ers are??? And here is the lovely lady <3 |

I've just got her on paper with a little coir that I will change daily as I don't want her reinfecting herself. Not the best start to her new life

Poor little thing! Glad you got her she is a nice looking tort.
A fecal test should help ID the culprits; there may be more in there than you can see.

Oh dear poor little girl, get a worm count done by your vet, and I expect it will be high and she will need worming. But she is a lovely looking torty

She is really lovely, and a lovely smooth shell, she looks like my lilly, poor girl though, ive never seen so many worms, you can use wormcount.com a postal worm testing company, they are really quick with the response but in the meantime i would worm her, i use panacur paste, i put it on a bit of romaine lettuce(as my torts cant resist it) to ensure they get it all. You need to read the instructions on how much to administer or i think there is a thread on here (if you do a search) that explains how to administer.
You can get panacur paste from a pet shop x

I use Kusuri tortoise wormer, it's good stuff. You can buy it on eBay. |

Oh the poor tortoise!
That's a shocking worm load! I agree with the others, get on and worm her and then you can send off a sample to wormcount or go to your vet to check she's clear. She looks like a beautiful tortoise though.
