I thought the same thing. Did you know that the Chaco was classified as Geochelone sulcata when it was first discovered? I believe you do have a Sulcata unless you got the animal who is breeding Chacos. I've never seen a Chaco with that light colored skin.
Both species are difficult to sex until they get to adult size and the chaco is difficult to sex beyond that. Quote:

btw... 100% sulcata. Chacos are tricuspid... sulcatas are bicuspid when looking at jaw. Quote:

I don't think it is. I had about 50 at one time. I've got some pretty good photos to compare to.
Your tortoise is about 4 inches SCL? An adult chaco is 7 to 9 inches. The Argentinian form is larger than that but they are rarely available. Paraguay still has a minimal quota for export and that is the smaller form. Here is a face shot of a 4 inch Chaco...  Profile shot of a 4 inch Chaco...  Quote:
