Well... that should make you think. Was the source of your tortoises positive of what they sold you... rephrase... was the source of your tortoises actually what they were supposed to be... and how does the breeder know... Ever notice why I don't jump in on certain tortoise IDs... it's because I've been dealing with tortoises for over 40 years. I've seen hundreds from known sources. The variation of these groups is amazing. If you read some of the sources cited in this post... even those who have collected data from the areas of the different populations admitt that it is near impossible to ID the tortoise unless the source of the tortoise is known. So... feel free in continuing to let the little guy get his rocks of... and sell the babies as Testudo hermanni... which they are... which populations... unk.

Enlighten this ignorant individual... how can you ID a cross when it is so difficult to ID the individuals to begin with... unless the source of the parents is known?

Thanks Ed, Watermelon and Lynne you have cheered me up a lot and i know Willy will be happy as he loves his Tilly so much she is his favourite and loves to cuddle up to her at night he would follow her to the end of the world so to speak!
