Igor update - Pics may upset (he is alright though)(PIC HEAVY)
Igor today has been at the vets. He has not been himself this last week so I take him in at the first sign of behaviour change. He is very slow this week. We suspect that he has a bit of RNS, so antibiotics for a few weeks. Finger crossed it goes well
For those of you who dont know Igor let me give you a potted history. A couple of years ago I was asked if I wanted to buy a tortoise. He was a male horsfield and lived with a disfigured tortoise. I could buy the normal tort for £100 and have the table too. I said ok I will be interested. I drove all the way to Liverpool to find that he intended to put the disfigured one into a box and leave outside for a week or so.......so I said I would take him He told me that he bought Igor in a pub toilet in Runcorn about ten years ago for £10. He was around 2 years old and that he took him home after a night out. He was placed in a cardboard box in the kitchen next to a dryer and was exposed to a large amount of humidity. He was fed on dog food and kitchen scraps and he did not get much in the way of UV light or vitamins. The result caused his body to grow but his shell to become compacted. After 3 months in my care he was a different tortoise. He is extremely friendly and loves a good fuss. He also loves my children and will hobble after them as quick as he can (usually so he can get a fuss) So let me present Igor |

Wow - what a story. Some people should be shot.
In the 4th pic down (one before the first x-ray) he has a lovely expression on his face. It's wonderful that he's found a loving home. Crwban

He's a little treasure. Thank goodness he was lucky enough to have you come into his life. Hope he soon gets over his RNS.

Yep that sure did bring a tear to my eye, but thank goodness you found him and he has a loving home, youve done a great job. He has a gorgeous little face. It amazes me that animals are still happy and trusting after such cruelty. Bless him.
