Thanks,
Their shell is made of keritin so cant be blood vessels.
Unless you mean a pink patch?
A picture is the only way for anyone to have an educated guess of what this is:0)

Row, I would be interested to know too. Lettuce has same and also has what I can only describe as bubbles under the shell surface which are visible but she has always had them though as she grows there are more, just thought they were part of her make up.

Hey CB,

Well at least we are not alone and if 2 have it hopefully it is nothing bad and as you say just part of their make up...

Have you pictures of lettuce shell to compare?

I haven't got picture of the lines on top and Lettuce is dark so not sure I will get them as good as yours. I have this one which I thought you can tell the 'bubbles' , which look wet under the surface like water has got in but it doesn't look so good now I've uploaded it here - she does have tiny little white spots too which are just visible. The picture on the lump chalk biscuit thread of her may be better for the bubbles. When she is hiding and her backside is poking out it almost look like the heat is creating them like 'sweating' under the surface because she is too hot but they stay. She is 7 CB x
