Default Are these eggs okay?

Hi everyone,

just wondering what any Herc breeders think of these two eggs? I came home from town today to find one of the eggs had hatched on day 55, yolk sac full absorbed very small 9g hatchling.
The other two eggs im unsure about! There is hatchlings in them, but one looks very small egg wght is 8gr originally 12g it also looks nearly empty and the yolk sac looks almost like it is drying up if that makes any sense?
All eggs have been incubated between 29-31c hum at 75-85%, Any advice is much appreciated
Thanks
Andy

I'm useless at looking at eggs but to me, the hatchling looks as if it's on it's back.
Good luck with them. I hope someone comes along to give you reassuring news.

I thought so too Andy, straight away you can see the hatchlings lying on their back & this is not good - Lynne Easter had one die like this - u need to do something quick, be that open or turn the egg - I honestly don't know, perhaps mark the title urgent or PM Dan?

Hope they are OK

Brilliant torch your using by the way - any chance of a link, when you have time ( I am also useless at candling)

Yeah that's what I thought Emma, looks like it is on its back, the other one was moving a couple of days ago, but nothing since!
Looking back at my records the eggs were 18, 15 & 14g, one hatched at 9g and these two eggs now are 9&8g. They have lost a fair bit of weight compared to all my other eggs. I'll check them tomorrow for any signs of change
Thanks
Andy

I'm inclined to agree with Lynn. If the weight of the eggs have decreased so dramatically I'd be worried that the babies had stopped growing a while ago.
I really hope all will be well but as they're nearing the end of the incubation period, I think I'd open the egg too.

Have you any other eggs from the same clutch that look more normal or is it just these two left to hatch?

Unhappy

Just opened them both and both were at different stages of development one looks a couple of weeks from fully developed and the other three weeks. Both were upside down and has passed away.
