Thoughts go out to the families of the four people killed in the Northsea helicopter crash. I fly on these things often and it just makes me sick to think this has now happened four times in four years? A lot of questions to be answered especially to the guys and women like myself who have to work offshore to earn a living.
A very sad day today for the offshore work crews all over.

Andy, I agree with your sentiments, I have spent a lot of time in super pumas over the years and hate hearing about choppers ditching

Was it a super puma crash again? They had only just started using them again!

Helicopters have a lot of crashes.

Lots of military ones have gone down without being under attack from anyone. When the US sent men in to kill Bin Laden, one of the helicopters crashed and was useless so they destroyed it on the ground.

Colin McRae crashed his helicopter despite being one of the best rally drivers in the world - although he was possibly showing off at the time.

Last year there were 29 fatal helicopter accidents in the USA.

I agree with Andy about the sad loss of life. The North Sea industry has taken a lot of lives.
