Default Wood Stain outdoor house

Hi

Just wondering what wood preservative / stain I can use on an outdoor house that is safe for the torts?

Thanks,

Row

Row what I do is to use 2 coats of yacht varnish. It's so tough that it is impossible for a tortoise to bite any bits off and it keeps the wood in great condition. The only exception being wood in direct contact with the ground which will rot after a few years no matter what.

I like the Cuprinol products.. In general I feel things are a bit safer now everything is water soluble for cleaning the brushes etc

I use the wood stain - Ronseal ones I think they are and the cheapy B&Q colours - which you cant tell the difference. look like paint but are actually a stain - harmless to pets and humans. washes off paint brushes really easy too with water and skin and clothes.. CB
