Sunrise in stages
I went down to Bamburgh last week to catch a sunrise and managed to get a few at different stages of the sunrise, from coming up on the horizon to full light

Thanks.
Emilyjayne, it's a Nikon D7000 and for the first three photos I used a dark 10 stop filter in front of the lens for a long exposure so that the camera shutter is open for 3 minutes (in the case of pic 2) which smoothes the sea and captures all the movement in the sky during the 3 minutes. The islands on the horizon in pic 1 are the Farne Islands off Northumberland's coast |

They're fantastic pictures Alan. Do you have your pics somewhere - like Flickr? I've just got a D5100 delivered today and it is an amazing piece of kit.

I have some on Flickr and 500px but I don't put them all on. The D5100 is good, I had a D5000 previously
