I think I need to start taking Nutrabol
Found out today that I am vitamin D, Calcium and Iron deficient.
I already take a vitamin and mineral supplement, as well as Ad cal, witch is a calcium and D3 supplement. So not sure what they will want me to take next. Hope its better than there advice as to why I'm always feeling nauseas after meals, the consultants answer eat more, as according to him I feel sick as I'm not eating enough. Not sure how I'm going to do that, as I feel sick for 3 or 4 hours after eating anything. |

Awww sorry to hear your not feeling well Carl. So do they know why you are defecient in vit D, Calcium and Iron if you are taking supplements. Iron defiency can make you very tired and that can lead to sickness. What are they doing about your defiency, are they giving you strong supplements?

The answer is cheese
Sorry you probably hate that as well Not one person in the history of my family has had ostoperosis because we all eat cheese My mum is ok after all her life living on very little food (issues) my niece has a lot of problems and her consultant says she should have ostoperosis now but she eats cheese and there is no sign of it

I had some of my bowel removed about 7 weeks ago Meshell, so I don't absorb things as well as I should, I was deficient in D3 and Iron when I came out of hospital, but they hoped that by taking the supplements it would correct it.
I've got to have B12 injections every 3 months as well, I think they will just up the amount of the supplments, got to go back to see them again on the 3rd of Jan see if situation has improved. Well I may have to go back before if I can't eat more. |

Oh Sorry Carl, I didn't know. What about trying to drink more shakes using skimmed milk. Skimmed milk had more calcium than normal or semi skimmed, what are you eatting?

Erm today I've had 4 clemitines, and some chicken, probably about 2 ounces.
Don't know why but I got a real thing for oranges at the moment so am drinking about half a liter of orange juice a day, and I've never been keen on orange juice. They keep telling me to eat more protein, but meat and dairy seem to make me feel sicker than other things. Its slowly getting better, for the first week or two even a cup of tea made me want to throw up. And I haven't thrown up at all today. On the bright side I've lost over 2 and a half stone since the op. |

Well drinking all that orange juice should help the iron get absorbed into the body. Do you take your Iron tablets with orange juice? I have a slight Iron defiency and I was told to take my iron tablets with orange juice.
What about mushrooms, they have quite abit of protein in them, and so does quorn, and it is not as strong tasting as meat. Also a nice tin of beans on toast Mmmmm |

I do actually as they acid in the OJ helps absorb the calcium and other supplents, well according to the consultant, as he told me to stop taking them with milk.
