hi
I know a lot of people that use cotton wool on top of damp sand but to be honest ANY Garden Centre should stock vermiculite, have you tried any of those? Regards, Gary

I successfully incubated my eggs in margarine tubs on paper tissues, sort of wrinkled a bit to stop them rolling, I'm sure you could also use sterilsed top soil, sand etc I'd imagine that anything would do its not like the eggs are buried in the substance, just sit on the top.

You can use almost anything. Fine sand, perlite or shredded aspen bedding (I use this ). Your just trying to find something to nestle the eggs in that prevents them from rolling around.
