New housing help please
Hi everyone, wow it's been years since I've been on here so hi *waves*
I've just bought a new enclosure for my little man Adolf (adult hermanns) & am now confused over what uv/light/heat bulb to buy him! I've always used a separate tube & light/heat source but now I'm looking for an all in one. There seem to be so many on the market & with them being quite costly I don't want to make a mistake buying the wrong one hence turning to you guys. My new enclosure is 100cm wide & 53cm deep, the Eco terra light fitting hangs so the bulb will sit 40cm above Adolf. Can anyone help me understand these products a bit clearer please? I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks |

Hi, the best on the market is the new arcadia D3 bulb
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARCADIA-MI...-/221134883220 if you get this one, make sure it has NEW on the packaging as in the link. They come in 80w/100w/160w This is the new generation 2 bulb and has been out only a few months, so old stock Gen 1 bulbs are probably still around. Hope this helps, all the best, mark |

The old ones may be cheaper now new style on market? I think all Arcadia products are spot on. Arcadia D3 in particular - just so easy all in one and maybe a heat emitter also if need be. The only thing I have found with the D3 100w is in an unheated outside area you need to set it lower sometimes if need to increase the heat ratio, but this isn't an issue per se just make sure it is right height otherwise if too high the UV output may not be so effective, but v simple to use. Also lots of people use the tubes to good effect. CB

ok thanks, I know they say more efficient as in heat and UV but 80 w must still be 80w , 100w is 100w output etc. Look good just mini er, less space...CB

i think they are the same size as the old units ..... the 80w is a smaller bulb, i've just bought a 100w and it's big!
