hi everyone,
i havn't been posting much on here lately but i have been keeping up to date with whats going on

anyway, i was wondering if you guys could help me?

i went to a job interview on tuesday.... it went really well and they said they would get back to me by monday.. (today) anyway, its nearly 2pm and still no sign of a phone call.
i really really want this job should i phone them? or wait for them to contact me? also if i should contact them, what do i say with out sounding too pushy?

I think ringing them looks like you are keen and lets face it if you have or haven't got the job it wont make any difference to them if you ring or not. It wont change the fact they either want you or not.

Sorry, waffled on a bit there.

yeh thats very true..... i dont know what to say when i phone them...
i was thinking something along the lines of

"hi there, i came for an interview last tuesday and was just wondering if the position had been filled?" or "if you have reached a decision yet"
or something like that?? what do you think? im incredably useless at things like this haha

Sounds great to me. Very professional. The first option sounds best I think.

I have no patience either, if you have waited a week then I think you would be entitled to phone them since they did say they'd let you know by monday. you could say that you are phoning because they said by monday and that you are having to go away and didn't want to miss the call. if it's your mobile just scrap that lie and phone them anyway saying you were desperate to know. Do the unsuccessfull ones get told first or last? not sure on that one. if they offer it to someone then they turn it down they could then offer it to their second choice. if they tell all the unsuccessfull ones first then the succussfull one doesn't want it after all, what do they do? hmm

only one way to find out, good luck

Give them a call you have nothing to lose! Fingers crossed, please let us all know how it goes! You could add something like 'I was very impressed by your company during the interview' to make it sound like you are really enthusuastic about working for them!
