Bindi & Red Foot Marge thank you for your replys. I would like to discuss it a little more. But feel a little guilt gate crashing someone else's thread so i'm going to start a new one

Could I just ask? What if you don't want to get a tortoise microchipped. If you transfer the a10 in your name before it reaches 10mm does that mean you don't have to have it chipped even if you sell it on or breed from it in later years?

No Lynne, when a tort requiring an Article 10 is over 10cm it needs to be chipped in order to sell it or any offspring it may have whether it is immediately or ten years down the line - unless of course they change the legislation before then

Hi Davina-you may not be aware but Male tortoises fight and cannot be kept as 'friends'.If you did have more you would need to seperate, which rather defeats the object!
