Well I cant see any shell rot. But it could be my old eyes:0) If in doubt always bathe in diluted betadine or the like. Generally shell rot happens when an bang or injury happens and bacteria sets in. Or if the bottom shell gets too damp and wet.

Thank you for the reply. So nothing else to worry about from those pictures then regarding the shell?

I cant see shell rot Tank. A bit of wear and tear. How old? as this will account for the wear and tear also. CB

Ok, quite young then. I am not expert but no 1 picky is not shell rot. number 2 picky I would say isn't either but if in doubt this is the one to show the vet. I took in a tortoise with shell rot where his little friend bashed away at his shell and you could really tell it was shell rot, which is nasty. This does look like abrasions from a rufty tufty adventure, but I would monitor it as they can turn into bacterial infections quite easily. Someone suggested an off the counter solution on here recently maybe you could try 'just un case' but not looking sinister to me. I will bow to the greater knowledge of others though, CB

I'd agree they are knocks sustained from climbing and bashing about. One of my females has a similar mark from climbing and falling when she was gravid a few years ago.
