Tortoises need whiskers!
Does anyone else think that tortoises would benefit from having whiskers?!
Now as most of you know I'm a reptile person not a fluffy animal person but I have to give them credit that whiskers are actually a fantastic idea! We are just having dinner in the living room so we have let absolem out for a run round the living room, and he seems to have absolutely no idea at all how big he actually is! He tries to fit through every tiny teeny weeny gap, quite often flipping himself over or getting stuck!! I think all he would need is a set of whiskers and it would make his life an awful lot easier...he would certainly save a lot of time!! Lol |

They do have a very optimistic tendency. Theo gets himself stuck far too often and has to try to reverse, lol.

I'm sure they just forget about their shell! Chip's always dead proud of himself when he succeeds in fitting both of his front legs through a gap then you can almost see his frustration when his shell won't follow, bless him

I think it has something to do with them never having actually seen themselves. If you think about it, a dog or cat or most of the natural world can see their body except tortoises. They can't turn round and lick their arse like most animals can, or bend in two like a snake or lizard and see their rear end so tortoises have no idea what they look like.
