they have the same suppliments as a bearded dragon has,you can use nutrobol and calcium powder in the form of bone aid alternate them. They dont need cuttlefish or limestone flour.

Hi,

I haven't kept an Iggie for many years but I know they are susceptible to Metabolic Bone disease, as are tortoises. A lot of artices I read on MBD in reptiles indicate that Iguana's are able to draw sufficient vitamin D3 from a "true" UVB light and that there is a possibility of D3 overdose if D3 supplementation is provided. (or if indeed Iguana's can synthesize orally supplied D3).

It's yet another reptile minefield as a lot of the "overdosing" information comes from...lighting manufacturers or sponsored groups.

A quick google of Iguana, MBD, D3 will show you what I mean.

Hopefully someone with recent Iguana experience or a D3 expert can jump in here

Yeap use Nutrobal, combined with a varied diet and good quality UVB and your well away. You have to watch temps with iggys as they have to be warm enough to digest the food and extract all the goodness from it.

When you prepare the food add a cup of water so he's taking in extra liquid.

A really warm basking spot is essential.

And good hydration spray them down regular a couple of times a day or even stick him in the bath for a nice long soak.

But remember these get big and can be VERY aggresisive, and need LOTS of space when fully grown.
