3 years on what a difference
Just been looking though some old pics and I didn't realise how bad my little Twiglet was when I got him.
2008 when I got him scabs all on his head and neck. These were weeping and looked so sore. His eye's were very bad too and wouldn't open them for days And now look at him So glad I didn't send him back!!!! |

What a lovely post, it's so good to see he's doing so well!
We have a similar story with one of our adult females, she seemed to be on deaths door when we got her, she was in a terrble state. She has doubled her weight (putting on 850g) and is looking and behaving like a very healthy tortoise in everyway now. I have a soft spot for this one now.

He couldn't use his back legs, covered in scabs on his head and neck which were weeping and his eyes were nearly always closed. Called the guy who sold him to me he said I could return him and get my money back.......... I couldn't send him back. Many trips to the vets and I had to do physio therapy on his back legs every day to strenghten them. This envolved a match box, Twiglet on top of it so he waggled he legs!!!!! Vet believed he could have been over crowded and had no room to move..... And now Twiglet is a little devil and so trusting he makes me smile. Row xx |

Thats awful makes you wonder how they survive. I have a tort, she didnt come from a back ground like that but did need lots of special care - the breeder wanted me to send her back but I couldnt do it, & im so glad I didnt, she's now fit & busy if a tad small! Its very rewarding to see them improve. Well done Rowan!
