What temp before we venture outside?
I know we will probably have some more cold weather to come but I was wondering what the outside temps need to be before my Hermann's can spend some time exploring the garden? And when they can go outside, will I still be putting them back on the tort table at night?

It depends on their size really. The bigger they are, the longer it will take for them to cool down and grind to a halt.
If the sun is out and the favourite basking spot is getting full sun, I look for a general air temp (in the shade) of 12C and above for Joe. EDIT As for bringing Joe in. The temp has to be consistently 12+ by day and no less than 10 at night before he'll be left out. Usually that's towards the end of april

I generally put mine out once its warm enough to go out in just a t-shirt, and yes I would bring them in at night.

a t-shirt, I'm such a wimp that only happens once a year in the UK, I suppose I'll wait until hubby wears his & use that as the signal

I go by the t-shirt rule too. On Friday I was changing substrate in my shed & my adult male was being a pain - into everything, so I put him in his garden which he loved, wondering round. It was funny because him not being out there I had blocked off his entrance into the greenhouse to keep some plants warm in there & he wanted to get in & was trying to headbut his way through! but now after being perfectly happy in the shed he has remembered he has an "outside" & is on a mission to get there!
