Playing spot the tortoise
Having collected my new tortoise, I have discovered a game which I had not heard of before.
Four tortoises went in (rather tiny Hermanni Hermanni) I went into the kitchen in order to make a cup of tea and on my return only two were left in the very secure housing. I then saw one of the two remaining tortoise bulldozing its way under the substrate, a thorough search of the substrate found the other two, phew. Good game though. |

Not sure re Stellanne ,but mine is 100% coco coir nothing else - bit of shingle to walk on sometimes. I love it, torts love it, so does my spider plants. no dust, doesn't clump great for the daily spray too. By the way I did answer your temperature and humidity post and picture of it too - not sure if you saw it (if you don't search on 'new posts' containing the 'days posts' ) as it was a while ago ! CB

I think our new member is going to spend a fair bit of time looking for tortoises in the future! I do it every day, often several times.

Me too, I am always dipping in and out of here. Did I contact you via Facebook during my search for Hermanni Hermanni? If I did and then failed to reply please accept my apologies, it was my first time on Facebook and I now cannot find any messages. (I think my son who was tutoring me did some deleting)

Hi there Kighill - no I didn't get any Facebook messages, but no worries it would have been OK anyway. I do keep hermannis just like you! But until this year I didn't have eggs so wouldn't have been able to help. I got my first baby this year.
Those hermannis you found look great by the way.
