They say red light is OK for reptiles to stay all night. Have a look at ceramic bulbs, they last longer and give no light whatsoever. Ceramic bulb with chicken reflector can do great job. Keeping tropical tortoise warm on a table in UK is a pain ... Until it is sorted.
