Quarantine is advisable imho, at least 6 months. Having two together is more than possible, the more room they have the less likely hood of problems.
If you end up with 2 boys or a boy and a girl, you may find you need to keep them separate all the time, 2 girls generally get on most of the time.
I don't see a problem with a 2 year difference, but theres no guarantee that the torts will get along so you just need to be aware of that.
