At 5 inches a male would (if I remember correctly) be big enough to "get the deed done" so if she is not looking male I would thing female, my male is 5inches, and there is no doubting he is a he... my female is only 4.5inches and her tail is smaller and she is not aggressive (but I think that is her nature I think)
