I dont think they're under fed. They live in a very well planted large enclosure. I did think they were small for 5 year olds when I bought them. They were 8cm and 125g then.

Its says hatched 2007 on their certificates so I presume so. They were purchased from a recommended breeder. They were both 125g when I bought them. They are around 180g now.

I agree. This was a very small piece no bigger than your hand my neighbour had been using it on his veg patch a week earlier, a small fragment must have found its way into my tortoise enclosure.

I believe they were kept on a soil substrate but it was a commercial one made for reptiles. The previous owner did say the only problem with it was that it was really dry so perhaps this had caused...

Dry sunken eyes in a horsfield

Hi guys,

I've taken in two Horsfields today, one seems fine apart from shell growth. The other however has dry sunken eyes. His eye lids are shut and his eyes seem very small.
