when did i say weeds Only? your just putting words in my text i said a variety in diet is needed if this includes pellets on occasion then ok but to feed a tortoise a pure pellet diet is not really...

but the "nutrients" involved are not necessarily from a natural source and we have no way of knowing if these are able to be absorbed by the tortoise in the form added.

Mine eat snails sometimes. If you think about it in the wild they must eat some insects and other small creatures even if its by accident so i don't think one slug is going to hurt.
