I would use topsoil mixed with coir for substrate. Sulcatas aren't necessarily slow growers. I know a guy whose 28 month sulcata is right around 30 pounds.(13.4kg)My 2 1/2 year old leopard is 14"scl....

I think that this is caused by a nutritional deficit somewhere. I had a similar leopard, and after feeding mazuri, the scutes started to spread apart normally. I don't know if they need more...

He was about 9" scl, the picture is about the time I first saw. He has become pretty aggressive now, and I have to watch my ankles every time I feed them, he will ram.

Here's an update on my "little" male, Hrothgar. Just checked today, and he is now 13" scl (33cm) and 14 pounds (6.3kg) @ 2 1/2 years - crazy...

No way. I have 8, and they're the most UN-athletic animals I have seen. In my adult pen, the walls are just RR Ties about 9" tall. I think mine would trip over a shadow. I bet you'll find a spot...
