you could even (instead of the mound idea) just...

you could even (instead of the mound idea) just put a whole lot more topsoil in until high enough, even to the height of just below the cage part and then put carboard or something round the inside...

I don't know really, you'd maybe have to cut the bars to get it right? It would be easier to bring the floor up.. i.e. create a mound of soil under the lamp tapering away all around, but not too...
