a fun day out
hello, me again,
a couple of weeks ago we had a lovely warm sunday so i went to visit a gentleman nearby who keeps a few species of tortoises, i took some pictures but i'm going to share a few with you. some are a bit blurry and looking back i wished i took more. ok apparently, there is an etheopian species of leopard tortoise that is so far unrecognised. i don't know the technical jargon but these leopards are GIANTS! i thought sulcatas were huge but these are big, they were great to watch! below is an average adult leopard tortoise and behind it is the giant! http://www.postimage.org/Pq1DNupr.jpg below is another adult leop which is a rehomer, the shell damage wasn't from the current owner i'd like to point out. the ethiopian leops are in the background. http://www.postimage.org/aV2h6jlS.jpg http://www.postimage.org/aV2h6Xg9.jpg last years marginated hatchlings! http://www.postimage.org/aV2h80C0.jpg burmese brown hatchling, sorry for blurry pic. http://www.postimage.org/aV2h9DSS.jpg this gentleman had sulcatas, pancakes, an aldebra, red and yellowfoots, should have taken more pics! i think i gawped like a codfish the whole visit! well, hope you enjoy the pics, we enjoyed the visit and i hope he won't mind us posting the pics.
