Would this be OK for my 2?

Hi all,

I would love to buy a Walk In Run for the tortoises! (going to take forever to save up lol)

Something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6x9x6-CAT-DOG-...item25594cc7fc

I was thinking of dividing it into two and putting wooden boards half way up so they can't climb!

I know they don't really need the height but I'd like to go in there and sit with them and watch them in the summer (If it comes:roll:)

So what do you think?

Somebody posted about something similar recently, although it's very nice, I would say that it's not particulary big, surface area wise, especially if you're going to divide it. You really need as much floor space as possible

WOW i thought it was pretty big too, We were going to get it for the chickens but decided it would be better for the tortoises!

What would be the ideal size?

Bindi 15-03-2010 08:19 PM

Idealy you need to give them as much space as possible as they like to roam. Although it does look big, the floor area is (as I'm sure you know) only 6' x 9'. This would be fine for hatchlings and young jeuveniles, but not for any bigger, well not imo anyway, sorry

If your torts are only tiny though it would be ok for a couple of years, but am I right in thinking one of yours is a Leopard?

Herpard 15-03-2010 09:17 PM

Yep one is a Leopard!

That was the biggest one we could fit in our entry too lol (There will be a shed in the entry, will have to see if mum will put it on our garden)

Hope you don't think I was being harsh, it just seems like alot of money for something that wouldn't really last very long, and you know how big Leos grow :p

Not sure what you mean by 'entry':?

Herpard 15-03-2010 09:45 PM

Nah don't think you was being Harsh :-)
