Euromastyx

Well here they are the first one is my new male I bought for my birthday then the other two are hopefully young females. They are really nice lizards to have as apart from seeds they eat all the same stuff as tortoises. They are real sun worshipers and like a high uv and a sun spot of 45-50.

They really look quite prehistoric. What size do they grow to? And have you named them?

The top one is Ethel second one twinkle toes and the third one is Harold even though I think its female.:)
They will get to about 12-14 inches.

I've never been a big fan of lizards, but really like the looks of chameleons. Where do the euromastyxs come from?

They are from Africa and Asia.

I used to breed a lot of chameleons years back which I do miss but don't miss the livefood bill each week:)

Chameleons are the only lizard I really like. Watched a video of one giving birth not that long ago actually, which was pretty amazing. 10 years ago I'd have been tempted to have one but time has ticked on and I'm not going back to having livefood in the house again. When the eldest moved out over 3 years ago he took his geckos with him and the last tree frog passed on earlier this year.
Just sticking to my Hermanns, budgies, dogs and small fish tank. My daughter has her guineas for snuggles if I want one but I don't have to do anything at all regarding them and feel I've reached a stage where it's very much a case of 'no more'.
Emilia the hen is still going strong and amazes me how she gets through each winter, but she's enjoying her retirement and she deserves it. When she's gone I won't be getting another flock of chickens. Loved having them but with neighbours up the road with free rangers, we get eggs from them when we need to.

Love the names, Gordon, especially Twinkle Toes - I can tell you picked that one. ;-)
