Thank you. I have been keeping tortoises and turtles for over 20 years and bred several different species but these ibera were special as the first eggs laid and to hatch were from first tortoise. She was bred by some friends, and I have raised from a hatchling 4 months old and at 20 years old last summer she laid my first ibera eggs.

She kept you waiting then! They really are lovely and very special too, to be from the tortoise that started your passion for them.
How lovely to have bred so many species. Really hope you have more photos to share as I’m enjoying them.

Thanks Lynn. I’ve used these since I started with torts, obviously getting bigger as they grow.

Lovely babies are you keeping them all?

Thank you. I had 10 in total from three females. I’m keeping at least the first one that hatched and I’ve been told i need to keep the third one that hatched as it hatched on my eldest’s birthday. I may keep one from each female and then find suitable homes for the remainder. That’s the problem, finding suitable homes, which makes me wonder whether I should incubate any eggs I have this year?

Trouble is it's a bit addictive!

Tell me about it! I have a reasonable amount of tortoises but when it comes to turtles and box turtles I have too many!!
