Bath temps and timing

What kind of temperature should baths be?

And how long should they last?

Also, do tortoises prefer a set routine, as in should I try and bathe him at the same time every day?

And are daily baths needed or is every other day is often enough (for a 3 year old tort)?

Thanks :)

I used to have my torts bath luke warm and top it up with more warm when it got cold as to length it can be as long as you like, while mine were in the bath I'd do the table/food etc, I never dried them but did sit them on paper or real towel to dry their feet otherwise they get covered in soil. As to how often well its up to you mine used to get a daily and did relax and enjoy it, when they stretch out you'll know you have the temp right and it does no harm to bath them every day. However at this time of year your tort should be spending as much time outside as poss and when outside won't need the baths so often as theres usually moisture in the air and surrounding ground, in the house its very dry hence the baths. Make sure though that the tort has access to a dish of water it can get into both inside and out, the size will depend on the torts size, they usually put thier heads under water to drink so it needs to be deep enough for that but not so deep that a baby will drown if it falls over on its back. Older torts don't flip over so much if at all.

Thats brilliant, thank you :) I have put a bowl in the table, I'm assuming that will be ok at room temperature? Picking him up today, I want to make sure everything is right :)

He'll have a table outside for now, I'm planning to make most of the garden into an enclosure ready for next year, it isn't secure enough for him to be free in it yet.

I bathe mine in water that is very warm, then when that cools, I take the tort out empty the bowl then refill it with very warm water, place tort back in, so they get an average of 20-30 mins soaking :) x
